Independent software engineer, architect and interim CTO
I design and build production systems, end to end.
I ship production software with small, AI-augmented teams that move like big ones. Backend, frontend and infrastructure, with a bias toward the simplest design that will still hold up at scale.
15+ years shipping software: architecture, backend, frontend, infrastructure, and the teams around them.
What I do
Product
From first commit to launch. I take the whole thing, so you have one person accountable for how it fits together, with a small team that moves like a big one.
What I do
Real-time and scale
Systems that have to keep up with a live audience. I design for the size you are now and the size you are heading for, with the simplest thing that will hold.
What I do
AI and agents
Assistants and agent platforms wired into the services a company already runs, with the evals and gates that keep their output honest.
What I do
Games and 3D
Browser games and 3D on the web, from the rules engine to the shader, and online play on top.
What I do
Infrastructure
Standing it up, running it, and keeping it standing. Multi-region on AWS, and servers in the Chinese market on Tencent Cloud and AWS China for compliance and performance.
And the other end of the scale
Sometimes it's one Worker
The simplest design that will still hold up. A whole app, pages, API, auth and billing, can deploy as a single Cloudflare Worker. Not everything needs a hall.
Cloud at the right sizeThe typing is free now. Judgment isn't.
Most of my week is directing agents, checking what they made and deciding what's good. A small team and a fleet of agents can then ship like a big team, as long as someone is accountable for the whole.
How I work with teamsIndustries I've worked in
- Live video and media
Interactive streaming for consumer audiences.
- Creator platforms
Subscriptions, courses and direct sales.
- Enterprise and ERP
Output, rules, distribution and archiving on top of big ERP deployments.
- Games
Browser games, online play and game platforms.
- Energy and solar
Roof layouts and yield estimates, drawn on a map.
- Education
Language learning built on spaced repetition.
- Web3
Wallets and tipping for communities, across chains.
Claim
Every agent takes exactly one task, atomically. Two can never grab the same work.
Graph
Work is a dependency graph. Closing a task unblocks what waited on it, so nobody builds a roof before the walls.
Gate
Output that looks right can still be wrong. Deterministic gates catch it and it gets redone. Tests are for this now.
Log
Every write lands in an audit log, so you can replay who did what and why, and the rules can improve.
What I do
Tools and open source
The machines I use, and publish.
- cluLocal-first SQLite issue tracker for coordinating AI coding agents.
- yoriA file-based library for your AI prompts, agents, commands and skills.
- dumontOne filesystem over disk, object stores, Drive, archives and HTTP.
- beamTunnel public webhooks to localhost on your own Cloudflare edge.
Go, single binary, one SQLite file
clu
The rules of this floor come from it. A local-first issue tracker for coordinating AI coding agents, with atomic claims, dependency graphs and an audit log. No daemon, no network.

The same agents, pointed at music videos, pixel worlds and tiny games. I make the machine make art.
New videos when the agents stop saying "You're absolutely right" and actually ship. YouTube.
